Ryan Adams at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival last night. He played a stunning, acoustic, stripped down set that honestly was the best I’ve ever seen him. However, the four (!!) hours of music that happened before Ryan, the headliner, even took the stage was generally awful. Some of the performers (Sunny War and Carbon Leaf in particular) were quite good, but everyone’s set went on too long, and Devotchka was so terrible it was beyond belief.
